’The House’ for innovative youth care
‘The House‘ is an innovative organization that provides mental health help to families. Founder Carlijn Welten researched what it would take to better connect mental health care to the experiences, strengths and needs of children and families. You can listen to inspiring conversations she had about the new mental health care in the podcast “How the mental health care is changing. Based on her research, she and Niek Hayen designed “The House,” a youth mental health organization that does things completely differently. For example, they work with families from a recovery vision, peer support has an important place and they keep the DSM out. Pointer produced an insightful report on “The House.
Evaluate with appropriate methods
But does “The House” work as it was intended? To determine that, “The House” conducts mixed method research. Qualitative research methods predominate in this with the use of theRealist Evaluationmethod. KOG-ers Annemarie, Marjolijn and Femke are supervising this evaluation conducted by Juliet Godthelp.
