Femke wrote the introduction to this issue and KOG directors Arjen Noordhof and Annemarie Kohne are interviewed about the KOG and its role in meaningful mental health care.

With the theme issue: how evident is evident? we make a call to reflect together on how evident our evidence-base actually is in mental health care. The evidence-based principle is something every professional has to deal with on a daily basis. Whether it’s applying evidence-based diagnostic interviews and treatments, registering and justifying pathways with insurance, or arguing why exactly not to use them.

But what does this “evidence” actually mean? Evidence for what? What do we accept as evidence or support? These questions are the starting point about the theme issue Evidence.
